It begins...

My husband and I are about to embark on an incredible year long journey across America. Joseph is a certified Reverend and our goal is to marry a couple in each of the lower 48 states. We will be documenting this amazing trip through photography, video, and on the web.

It is called the Wedding Project, although like all worthy endeavors it will be about so much more: family, relationships, love, America (the people and the land), travel and – well, life. I feel there is much to be optimistic about and we plan on sharing our real world revelations.

Wow! PG, that sounds like a fantastic idea! Be sure to send me a postcard from Las Vegas....we have been wanted to get married there in the Elvis Chapel for like 7 years, but we've realised we cannot afford it! Booh.
I am still, however, trying to persuade Alan to join me for a road trip across the States. He says the Americans are too wacky! LOL! Perhaps he's right once you enter Hickland....
Anyway, so happy for you guys :-D

Lilly
By the way: how many blogs have you got now, woman? ;-P

First off-I expect to see each one of you when we're on this trip. and you realize I need you all to tell others about this to actually find the couples. And we're open to renewing vows as well. I'm excited-we work on this everyday.

kiki-And here we go right? We'll totally come check out your haven in the jersey town. You live in a glam spot. How many celebs live there?

stepping-I so want to see you too-and we have to go to bean town and check out Milford where my dad grew up.

jc-always the elusive jc. I have some texas questions to ask you. And I have to austin.

adam-oh if we pull this off. wouldn't it be GREAT to do this over there-in a caravan. I just like the word caravan.

vedrana-thanks dear!!

lilly-You two should come over when we're doing our project and we'll marry you!! Think about it. Talk to Alan. We can't marry anyone in Nevada though, but we could at the grand canyon or yellowstone-talk about it. Oh and we can't in NYC. We would have to have a church and followers.

and I have too many blogs. When we hit the road paintergirl will be on hiatus.

I'm not going to be married, but would you consider coming for a visit!!?? I can see if I can drum up someone in my state for you to marry. :) I would meet you wherever I could or happy to have you stop here in my beautiful little town!

You have to make DC one of your stops! I know it's not an official state and we don't have voting rights in Congress (yet), but I think you'd love it here. You also can visit some of the museums and galleries in the area (most of them free) while you're around. I'm sure I could round up a couple to marry... It's a surprisingly cool and educated city (just ignore the fact that it's home to the world's biggest idiot).

We would like to volunteer to be the first members of your church (of cool ideas) should you decide to make a wedding happen in NYC!!

Rock on, Keirsten & Clyde

Hey ya Lilly! I just love love love your video. How did you guys do that?

LOL! Thanks, dear :-) Alan basically stood with a video cam when I was driving around. The shot where he's filming me from behind, he actually did when he himself was riding behind me on a scooter!!! (I had no idea he was secretly filming me for a wee feature film ;-)). I love it too!!
